emergency exercise over
It was chaotic and frantically stressful when the fire alarm sounded. Even though the exercise was fabricated, everyone appeared to take it seriously. The casualties were given convincing make over to make them looked like they were genuinely injured. Being the second fire extinguisher team to reach the fire did give me a clear view of what and who was inside the burning lab. I saw Mr Shaiful and a boy pinned under a box "labeled as heavy object". Funny :)
Then I was like pointing the fire extinguisher at the fake fire trying to make believe that I was actually doing so. The smoke filled room did give me the chills at some point. Then before I could do anymore of that imaginary fire fighting, the SCDF arrived and they took over the job. They had oxygen masks and they were like fully equipped with the right gear.
Note to self: Next time bring Asthma Inhaler and use it as a temporary oxygen device.
The kids got to go home early. Good for them. :P
We, teaching staff had a debrief at the AVA room shortly after and they were pleased with the response of everybody who chipped in with saving the fire as well as those who helped with other major responsibilities to ensure the safety of students and injured victims.
Of course we could not have done it without the help of student helpers. CLAP CLAP.
My Goodness. My post is like some propaganda. Gross.
