Down with the sickness

My throat is dry and swollen. It took on some beating last night with Mama special spicy curry accompanied by several rounds of whiskey. I am now coughing out my eye sockets.
I found Zhou Bibi's latest album online. I sampled some of the tracks online and they are quite good. Too bad the CD is unavailable locally. :(

Sunday afternoon

It has been raining down all morning. This wet weather reminded me of the good old days in Iowa. The cool morning and the gushing cool wind that enter your premise the first step you take out of your home. I love it. I feel healthier and more awaken with the cool weather. I so happy that the year end monsoon season come this early.

The folks will be returning to Guang Zhou tomorrow. So Dad suggested that we have another family get together later. The mother will be broiling a pork stew, curry chicken and an accompanying green for dinner. Yum Yum!

I have yet to kick-start on work, because I am still too busy fiddling with with my Batman: Akham Asylum game.

Band of Brothers (A HBO production

I was digging through my old library of dvds and I found this HBO production, A Band of Brothers that relived the lives of the 31st Airborne infantry unit, Easy Company, during World War I. The officer quoted the following Henry the Fifth verse, "For he today who sheds his blood with me shall be my brother..." I could feel the intensity of that verse and what he truly meant by brothers.
Ending note: I served in the Company of Heroes

weekend beginnings

Time to kick back and let loose that dance - fire within.

Check out little nuances of Michael Jackson's crotch grabbing dace moves in the video above.
I am still contemplating in going out later with a few closer pals. And chill out with a couple of pints. After thought- All thing that starts well, ends well : )

The 2nd version of the dance video featured above is a little bizarre, but quite interesting to watch. Enjoy that!

reality TV

I use to watch this reality tv series on travel and living on cable tv. I really like the Roloffs. Perhaps I will pay their farm a visit somebody. :)
What on earth is happening to Jon and Kate plus 8?

they say Monday is a "big day" for the folks who are in my line of work

One do not need a special day like next Monday, to thank the person who has impacted his or her life. It will mean a lot more to the "T" when one can show respect and care in their daily exchange. A sincere "Thank you" goes a long way :)

48 + 12 hours to the weekend

I am juggling work and I do appear to be coping ok. In actual fact, I am barely breathing. At most times I am pretty much like a walking talking zombie. I have suddenly lost interest in elaborating about my life. Reason being that there is nothing to smile about. I hope tomorrow is a better day. Yeah! Look on the bright side, things could be worse.
I desperately need a brain transplant!

cultural exchange in ethnic cuisines

Has anyone tried Szechuan food? They are famous for their spices and Mala (sour and spicy) steamboat. They called that Ying and Yang steamboat, where the boiling soup is separated into two different compartment. One is a regular chicken stock soup base and the other one is the sour and spicy soup base. Here's a video showcasing three Japanese women whose visiting Szechuan to try out the different kinds of food offered in that country. Their expressions appear to be exaggerating at times, but that is typical for Japanese TV.

I am doing my marking and I am managing my restaurant (RC), all at the same time :P

living with Michael

Here's a documentary made some time back. There was a lot of hype about this back then.

Whose Line: Greatest Hits Songs of The Teacher

fat and clumsy

The tile of my post best describes me. I just spilled like half a pack of tea all over myself. The cushion in my office chair is soaked with tea sweetness and the left side of my pants reeks of tea perfume. Yup the latest men's body cologne, teh-O. I am contemplating on going home after work to change up before I head down to AI for orals. Do I have enough time and energy for the quick turnaround?
On second thought, No. I will have to live with soaking wet tea flavoured undies and pants for the rest of the afternoon. Whoever hates me will be laughing their butts off right now.

week closing

We're reaching the closure of the week. I have not done anything constructive all week long. So I do not deserve to be chirpy at all. (eyes out the window) Time to recap and work on something logical for a change. Putting aside all emotions, I will concentrate on getting more work done for now. The daily afternoons at AI is somewhat refreshing, even though it can be awfully unbearable at times, due to the rising heat. All that forest fire burning by our friendly neighbour has really clog the skies. According to the weather people, our PSI level is safe, but it will be unwise to stay outdoors for extensive long period of time. So drink up and stay in the shade, ok?
I read today's health guide in the local papers and there is an article on living a longer life. It says with a proper diet and regular exercise one can live a longer life. My question is, is it all worth it to lead a longer life when one does not know how to cherish it and live by the proper morals? Perhaps a religion can shed light on answering that question. Yeah. Perhaps.
I dedicate this song by the late John Lennon, A.K.A lead singer of beatles, to all those who continue to question the faith and the meaning of life.

Mid week and i want to get back into an exercising routine. I wish I have Brock's insane endurance. Check out his training in the following vid.

Tuesday is a done deal. We're in the middle of the pre-lims and Oral examinations. Unmarked scripts are stacking up as we speak. God bless me.
I am so going to get this Duncan Sheik track. Yes I will.

I just watched District 9 on internet streaming. It is a really good movie. Trust me! The development of the plot is logical and moving to the human soul. It explained to us how inhumane we can become when we have a choice to abuse the power we receive. Go watch it and you will learn something out of it. A Neill Blomkamp's creation. Kudos to him!!

the waiting game

Now I am all setup and ready. My bait and hook are all in the water. And my fishing float is bouncing on the water edge. I am waiting patiently for the fish to take the bite. Yup. This is exactly the situation that I am in right now.

Weekend endings

An hour and a half to midnight. There are few more hours to madness Monday. I have yet to sift through the stack of Prelims. Sigh. I have been doing what I do best, procrastinate. My excuse? I am busy with fighting the Germans and Japanese in Stalingrad and Okinawa.

Taiwan Flood rescue

August 8 was a dark day for Taiwan. Flood waters combined with mud caused massive landslide in the southern region. Thick muddy water engulf 4 storey houses and destroyed roads and uprooted bridges. The current death toll is about 500.
Video featuring another all girl group. How can one stand out from the rest when there are so many of them? Competition must be tough eh?

I have speech problems too :(

I tagged along with the boss, Mr H and Mrs W to Kranji for the ICT sharing. I fumbled on my part of the presentation and I totally embarrassed myself by speaking with a continuous stutter. The attendees were looking at me with wide opened mouths. They must have wondered how on earth can a person like mua teach oral reading when I myself could not speak out loud coherently.

Ready or not Prelims start tomorrow

Long day. I am glad it is over. Now lets move on to the next. bring it on!!!

Two more day to go before the weekend

Today's "L" observation turned out to be passable. I was a nervous wreck from start to finish. I was speaking gibberish and my instructions were spoken so quickly that I too find it hard to comprehend at certain times. Yes! Typical of me.Thank God the babies were able to grasp the little known signals that I communicated via hand gestures. And they could accomplish the work that I wanted them to do.

Their finish products out to be quite good. Reports were nicely written. They do deserve some credit. Kudos to all of ya! Thank you EEE BEEES!!!

The prelims are drawing near. I hope some "people" wake from their slumber before time runs out. Yup I am referring to 4_ _ . GAMBATEH!

Here's a dido's song. I want to dedicate this to the EEE BEES. Thank you. :P

back to work and running out of gas quickly

One of my longest day in the week is finally over, but I have got like a really tough Thursday coming, with back to back "L". And I am so going to DIE tomorrow. I have "L" observation by the boss. Sigh.

Holiday endings GOODBYE!!!

Blogspot is still facing buggy issues. Looks like we're gonna have to live with that for a little while longer. Well, At least we still can write our post. So let's be thankful for that.

I wanted to catch the afternoon matinee of G. I Joe, but the queue at the ticketing counter was ridiculously long. Who says we're facing a recession? The entrance to the theatre was like swamped with people waiting to get in. And I am certain that the theaters will be packed right up to the front.

Note to self: watch TV on SUNDAY instead.

I got home feeling low and demoralised, not because I could not see the movie, but rather due to the fact that work resumes in less than 24 hours. I am neither mentally or physically prepared for that. On top of that, there are tons of unfinished business waiting for me there.(point towards the NORTH) Sigh...

Just when I thought that blogger.com fixed my IP banned and the existing script error for the flagging header on my blogspot page, these problems came returned. Please! Please! please! fix these soon!!!

work resume in 48 hours (National Day weekend)

Bloggers.com Thank you for fixing the flag header at the top of my blogspot page.
I am still unable to upload pictures to the blog. Sigh...
Does anybody know when is the Prime Minister delivering his National Day Speech? Did I miss it already?

Check out their rendition of National Day songs below. IMPRESSIVE!!

English Oral Reading and Conversation 101

Where can I get a copy of Xmen Messiah Complex? Anyone?

long weekend break

My work day ended at 10am officially. Anybody whose working their butts off as we speak probably envies me. Oh yeah! Whose the man?
At 11ish I am already brain dead and I could not think on my feet. I managed to bluff my way through a quick meeting with the bossman. It was informal and the meeting was right to the point. I hope future meetings will run in such manner. I look forward to begin my weekend with the right note. Yup... me dunking oreo cookies in a cold glass of milk and watching the live telecast of the Prime Minister's Speech on Sunday.
This week we celebrate national day.
