Soon to be mid week

The day turns out to be a whole lot better than I expected even though the situations in class appear to be just as chaotic.

I cannot help, but to blame myself for the constant chaos that I carry along with me when I enter class to class. I think having too much of a fun in class is getting out of hand. (Shake head)

sunday and 12 hours left to the weekend

time check 10:03. Time to hit the sack and get some rest.
I was watching back to back episodes of Spartacus today. And at the same time, mark a few essays along the way. It was a relatively relaxing day. I like Sundays like this. I hope next week will be a better week than last. Going to keep my finger crossed.

Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring.

saturday

back from dinner at Sembawang. One more day to go before hell breaks loose again. I am planning on getting work done and catch up on sleep at the same time. How am I going to do that? Not going to unless I can clone myself.

Friday

Mid Year exams is in a weeks time. And then come the endless marking. I hope I have the mental strength to last that long.

I have not slept well for the past few nights. I am suffering from insomnia, anxiety attacks and constant headaches. I took the day off and went to the doc to fix myself up.
The doc made assumption and said that my insomnia could be caused by the stress at work. He asked me if I were truly stress in the office. In my mind I pictured myself clearing mine field and there was no certainty that I will survive the ordeal.

That is how negatively unpredictable work life is to me. How do I keep my head above water? Solution: Avoidance and more avoidance.

- When the boss makes mistakes, he has a million reasons to justify why his mistakes are genuinely correct and they are perpetrated and orchestrated.
- When you make the mistake, you are deemed as careless, lack of an eye for detail and you have the inability to follow simple instructions.
NOTE TO SELF: Always be the boss!

work is like a PRISON

I feel like I am serving my life sentence in prison whenever I step into the office. With so called superiors acting like prison guards and the head being the prison head warden with all his arm guards ready to jump on me at any opportunity they have. This feeling sucks to the core.

In this day and age people keep mum about taboo topics forbidden at work, discrimination by superiors and much more the ugly side in the workplace. ALl these bow down to personal self destruction and when the anger and hate accumulate within, there will come a point when one cannot hold it in anymore and that person will let go with a BANG! Sometimes I imagine myself yelling all kinds of unwanted phrases in the midst of a meeting. I am beginning to see the uglier side of people and how everyone fend for him or herself and only to work on the surface with the ultimatum of gaining an advantage over the weaker colleagues subtly. I am not keen on elaborating but this is just a facet of the ugly work-life.
Do enjoy being a student where mistakes are made and forgiven.

Dark Days

Yesterday the ceiling in the computer lab leaked water from the sewage tank. Today a different lab had a power shortage. I think I am cursed. :(

tuesday

I personally detest long and distasteful meetings. I know for a fact that the people chairing these meetings are doing it under "extreme" conditions cascade down from above. It just sucks to the core when you are at the bottom of the food-chain. Sometime I wish I have a say and the freedom to choose to NOT attend. In the local context, it is just impossible.
I am having a bad hair day. Maybe I will have a better day tomorrow.

Sunday afternoon

Struggling with the marking and I can safely say that it will take another million years to finish even half the stack. I am finishing the last few episodes of the first season of "the Mentalist".:P

Tuesday and mentally drained

You know how you want to work hard at work and your body and mind are not allowing you to? This is so NOT happening to me. (Denial) Not when I need to get serious work done. My mind kept drifting away and I am losing focus. I have to rewind and rethink my strategy on getting back in sync at work.

I am glad to see my class after a long break. I do empathize with the sleep-head. Most are succumb to the unforgiving humid weather. The lousy ventilation plus the long hours of teacher-talk must have put them all to sleep. Okay! I am guilty as charged. I do admit that my lessons are usually quite dry and B O R I N G.

I am putting today's failure behind and I am working harder tomorrow. Maybe, just maybe they'd be in a better condition to learn.

Monday - No blues

back home early on a Monday. FFI was okay other than the expected hiccups. They had four treadmills with only one working. Very "efficient" indeed.
I snapped a few sights with my camera phone. I will post them here later on.
Yeah! I am waiting for the hammer to fall.

weekend endings

I was idling and watching loads of TV. I decided to put work aside and truly relax myself. Now that weekend is ending, I am reverting back to the panicking state of mind. Oh God! I have NOT done any work over the weekend! I am going to be Dead Meat!
OMG. Brad Pitt and Van Diesel are in the new Thundercats movie/.

Official Dilbert Widget

saturday - lunch at Queensway and shopping at Ikea

I went ABC market at Queensway for lunch. I have the regular, $2 Char Siew Mee. The portion was decent and the taste was exquisite. They have been selling the noodles at that same location for more than 10 years. Over the years, despite the rising cost in living, groceries and store rental they manage to keep their noodles selling at the same price. Why? The lady says that she wants to make her noodles affordable for the elderly lower income earners in the residential area.

emergency exercise over

It was chaotic and frantically stressful when the fire alarm sounded. Even though the exercise was fabricated, everyone appeared to take it seriously. The casualties were given convincing make over to make them looked like they were genuinely injured. Being the second fire extinguisher team to reach the fire did give me a clear view of what and who was inside the burning lab. I saw Mr Shaiful and a boy pinned under a box "labeled as heavy object". Funny :)
Then I was like pointing the fire extinguisher at the fake fire trying to make believe that I was actually doing so. The smoke filled room did give me the chills at some point. Then before I could do anymore of that imaginary fire fighting, the SCDF arrived and they took over the job. They had oxygen masks and they were like fully equipped with the right gear.
Note to self: Next time bring Asthma Inhaler and use it as a temporary oxygen device.
The kids got to go home early. Good for them. :P
We, teaching staff had a debrief at the AVA room shortly after and they were pleased with the response of everybody who chipped in with saving the fire as well as those who helped with other major responsibilities to ensure the safety of students and injured victims.
Of course we could not have done it without the help of student helpers. CLAP CLAP.
My Goodness. My post is like some propaganda. Gross.

2nd day of the week

Had to step up with the printing of the Speech Day (SD) booklet today. Ms Chen was on sick leave and she has asked me politely to help her churn out the 250 copies of the programme booklet.

I was like okay, how am I going to pull this off without breaking a leg? I was desperately in need of an extra pair of hands, to help with the folding and stapling of the 250 copies of programme booklet.

You know the saying,"whenever you needed help, nobody would be there for you."? I tell you man! It ain't all true. In times of need, Martin and Vishnu stepped up. We sure got all the booklet compiled before 1630 hours. I appreciate that GUYS!

According to schedule, there will be a massive emergency exercise tomorrow. I should get rested early and prepare for a really long and tire-some day tomorrow. God helps us all!

Time check: Sunday afternoon 1515 hours. I just watched the first 3 parts of "the Pacific". The plot is similar to "Band of Brothers" and the characters are the quite same.

Thursday night

Long weekend. Yeah! I am so going to play FFX and GOW3 tomorrow. :)
I kept getting butt kicked in L4D2. My internet band-with is struggling with the game streaming. And the game keeps lagging. Sigh... the faster internet package is just too expensive for now. Maybe wait another 6 months and see.
Patience my friend! Patience.
